His key comments around leadership are relevant to the shifts that we see happening today in business.

Here’s something that might absolutely astound you … it has been predicted that there will be a leadership shortage in the very near future. A study by Egon Zehnder International predicts a 36 percent shortfall in the number of managers ready for leadership roles by 2015.

Effective leaders today must have flexibility in the way they think, flexibility in their paradigm or the framework through which they view the world in different contexts.

On the job mentoring is one of the most important elements in making Lean Six Sigma education work. The most successful companies in the world continually apply mentoring programs. Just like an MBA never guarantees competent leadership, Lean Six Sigma education without an appropriate operating system can never guarantee a benefit.
