#1 Its simple …
It is profound in its simplicity and provides easy, chronological access to the tools. Each of the DMAIC chapters is concluded with a comprehensive tool users guide and checklists and tollgate questions.
#2 It’s a reference …
You are not expected to read it, rather it was written for you to reference it and take away something new every time you opened it.

A Message From The Author

George Lee Sye
There must be thousands of Lean Six Sigma Books out there in the marketplace. And I have read literally hundreds of them.
Have you noticed how many of these give some useful insights into bits and pieces and how few of these really help the user break new ground and enable them to fully understand and effectively apply these methodologies in a way that creates genuine value?
That was the reason why I originally wrote Process Mastery. The lack of clarity that I was able to get from existing text books at the time frustrated me. I sensed they either didn’t know what they were doing or they were holding back.
So I sat down and researched and started typing. Over a period of 2 years and some 2 million frequent flyer points later, out popped the first edition – an 820 page monster. And guess what … people told us they loved it. Most satisfying was the fact that it sold out.
But do you want to know something … I was never really satisfied with it. So I wrote the second edition.
The second edition was driven by my need to understand and get back to the true intent of the bits and pieces of these methodologies. The intent of many elements has been lost over the years through thoughtless regurgitation and unwitting misinterpretation by the uneducated or inexperienced.
The second edition is my most comprehensive work to date and now presents the body of knowledge for the Lean Six Sigma training of many organisations.
I hope you get yourself a copy and extract the value it offers you for many years to come.
